Casa

Academic Program

Casa which means “Children’s House” from Italian word, Casa dei Bambini, a preschool established by Maria Montessori for children between 2.5 to 6 years old. As the foundation of their personality development has already been laid, they enter into the prepared environment where they learn through real-life activities, through manipulation of objects and through open-ended exploration learn to be independent, refine their movements, their sensory insights, and develop their intellectual skills. They learn in the environment at their own pace where they are free to choose their own activities and follow their interests, developing their concentration and reasoning skills.

As children tend to integrate their learning rather than separate it into ‘subjects’ each learning for the child involves many areas of knowledge. The materials and activities are designed to support their developmental stage to make them organised; with practical life activities that refines their sensory awareness, making them independent and improving their social skills. Casa Curriculum includes Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Science, Mathematics, History & Geography, Art & Craft, etc. The trained adult in the environment guides them through the experiences, helping them to be self-reliant, making them excellent communicators for their personal social-development skills.
